General Children Visitation

Birth certificates or adoption papers must be shown for all children under fourteen (14) years old on their first visit.  This will be documented in the visiting computer.  The inmate may only have visits from their natural children (verified by a birth certificate) or their adopted children (verified by adoption papers).  The parent’s signatures must be on the birth certificate.  If a birth certificate is not available, “certified” paperwork stating the child or children’s name(s), and the incarcerated parents name can be used in place of the birth certificate (such as welfare paperwork).  Children thirteen (13) years old and under are not allowed inside the prison except during children’s visiting hours.  One (1) adult who is on the inmate’s visitor list must accompany children during the visit.  The accompanying adult is to assist and keep order during the children’s visit.  No toys, diaper bags, oversized purses or tote bags are allowed in the visiting room.  Each inmate is allowed one (1) children’s visit per week.
