The York County Quick Response Team was formed in November 2002 to provide assistance to local law enforcement agencies in the management and resolution of special threats and high-risk incidents. The team is comprised of twenty-four (24) law enforcement officers from various agencies including York City, Springettsbury Township., Spring Garden Township, York Area Regional, West Manchester Township, Newberry Township, Fairview Township, and York County Sheriff.. These departments are united under mutual aid agreements to maximize available resources for response to incidents in a rapid and effective manner.
The mission of the York County Quick Response Team is to provide specialized tactical training to a select group of law enforcement officers within York County and to utilize these officers in the resolution of high risk and volatile situations. The officers who are assigned to this specialized unit are dedicated to the protection of York County citizens and to assisting local law enforcement agencies during critical incidents.

In
light of recent events, the YCQRT has taken an active role in school
safety by ensuring all schools in York County are providing blue prints, maps
and information pertinent to their respective area that would be utilized
for emergency planning and mitigation of situations.
